002 溫柔 - 五月天 (D.N.A創造演唱會)

It is really through times like this when you appreciate music so entirely. It explores the empathy one human has for another and shows us how we are just replicas of one another at some points in our lives. I have never been a Mayday fan, but just this video alone is tugging at me to watch their 3D concert movie. I really loved the moment when 阿信 just lost it on the stage. Take your time out to watch this video, it’s worth it :)

Music.

I’ve been learning how to play the piano since I was six, and the cello when I was thirteen—I learnt that when I decided to join the chinese orchestra in my school. My father listens to really ALL types of music, so you can say that I’ve been exposed to a large genre of music since I was young.

To be honest, I did not enjoy the piano so much—I thought it was a pain in the ass having to practice those songs for the annual examinations. And I played the cello out of pure coincidence, not because I particularly liked it at that time. Of course, I have grown to like it alot, I think being in an orchestra helped.

The wonderful moments of music are those that are shared: the feeling you get when music creates wonders, binding everybody together. And it feels lovely, when you know that the feeling is mutual.

I loved my experience of being in an orchestra, the goosebumps, the intensity during performances and competitions, the feeling of unity. That phase of my life is over, but those are fond memories that I will remember for life.

Now, I mainly listen to Chinese pop music. In these few years, the type of Chinese songs that I have been listening to have expanded greatly. It all started out with watching the numerous ‘One Million Star’ competition in Taiwan. The contestants are really cool with their song picks.

Hence I started out this tumblr to share music that may be mainstream/not so mainstream but have left an impact on me in one way or another. Hopefully, I will get to come across other great music that I may not have the opportunity to come across!
